General Appearance:
Its character is a balanced dog, with no signs of shyness, fearfulness or aggressiveness. To the people it is friendly and helpful - despite the fact that it has a considerable acuity -varmint. It has all the prerequisites to be simultaneously both - powerful hunting dog and companion breed. While hunting it behaves tirelessly, passionately and with temperament, at home it is peaceful and calm. It gets well with children.
Training/Behaviour:
It is a dog from an early age ductile, whose upbringing and training it is virtually no major problems, so it is suitable for beginners. Its desire to work in water and prone to bringing in and tracking is innate, a situation trainer significantly makes easier. Moreover, thanks to its intelligence docile and industrious, it will make the owner happy.
Its search is spacious and fast, it has an excellent sense of smell and willing to work in any weather, on any terrain. It tolerates permanent residence in an outdoor kennel, which is the most common method of its pointing when it is in the hands of powerful hunters, but dog is happier if it can live with "its" people. It can live, e.g. in city too.
Body:
It is a medium to large-sized working type, strong bones, but noble body, grey coloured, with a rough coat and a high head carriage. Body frame is slightly rectangular, height at the withers, male is from 62 to 68 cm and female is from 57 to 64 cm.
The head is sufficiently long, dry, skin folds. Size corresponds to the size of the body. Skull should be rectangular, eyebrows are pronounced frontal furrow pronounced, occipital crest palpable. The frontal slope (stop) should be gradual.
The muzzle is approximately as long as the skull, wide and seen from the side deep. Nasal bridge may be flat or slightly sloping toward the nose (light down faced) should never be uttered. The nose must be large enough, darker than coat colour, nostrils wide open.

The eyes should be almond shaped, properly stored, not protruding or sunken, intelligent expression and amber. The edges of the eyelids are dark pigmented and well fitting to the eyeballs. The forelegs are strong, vertical to ground, straight and parallel when viewed from front and side. Shoulders should be dry and strongly muscled, long, oblique, Close to the chest. The shoulder bones are slanted, strong and well muscled. Elbows are not turned in or out, and must be freely movable. Forearm dryly muscled, long, straight and perpendicular to the substrate. The hindquarters should be viewed from the side, well angulated when viewed from behind straight and parallel to each other. Thighs should be long enough and wide, muscular. The knees are strong and flexible, bent at the stifle and hock are the same. Lower thigh should be moderately long, muscular and sinewy. Hocks should be dry. Insteps are almost vertical to ground. Skin should be moderately strong, flexible, with no loose skin folds, gray pigmented. Coat hard, dense, close-fitting, consisting of an undercoat and hard guard hairs about 4 cm long, straight and tight. At the bottom of the muzzle and lips, the hair is longer and softer, and forms a beard. The brow should be longer and tougher hairs forming are directed obliquely upwards. Other part of the head covering short coarse hair on the earlobes hair is short and soft. It should cover the entire body surface, on the distal portions of the legs and abdomen may be shorter, but must be dense and hard.
The basic coat colour is grey, from silver after mouse grey, are permitted and all other shades of these colours. The head and ears are brighter. White markings on the front feet and chest are permitted.
