Airedale Terrier

FCI:

Airedale Terrier Group III. - Terriers.

General Appearance:

It is a courageous dog with fast movement always ready to respond with interest and immediately everything that is happening around. Expression, eye contact, supporting the ears or tail carriage. Its character is a reflection of its character.

It is bright, trustworthy, reliable, friendly, utterly fearless, courageous and intelligent, always alert dog. It is never aggressive or timid. These features of the original hunting dog has become over time a remarkable social breed that is well made both to sport and the Utility Training (in the army, police and rescue staff) as well as a variety of dog sports. In any case, his lack of self-confidence, and it is also smart enough. It likes making decision itself - then it is not easy to persuade it.

Temperament & Behaviour:

If it feels that it is not necessary to obey, simply it plays tricks with owner e.g. I do not know what you want or why I should to this or that. Owner should never leave the intention to train this breed.

The hypothesis is that this a breed rebellious and disobedient that does not to love its owner, it is totally wrong, in fact, Airedale Terrier is able to sacrifice its life for the person that has good relations with. Its confidence, however, it cannot work with imprudent and unfair punishment. It has its pride. Owner must simply outwit it from beginning by intonation of voice, dealing kindly.

If Airedale Terrier gets from a young age appropriate education based on clear, strict and also a kind of consistency, it will grow up obedient and easily controlled dog. Its obedience is never slavish, dull and resigned.
