General Appearance:

It's very adaptable, due to its origin, it is intelligent, lively, but basically calm and cheerful companion, with moderately developed hunting talents, but without any tendency to run away from game. Any aggression and shyness are by this breed extremely undesirable and usually do not occur unless it was neglected early socialization and avoid serious mistakes in education. It has a good-natured attitude to the humans, friendly dog. It loves to move, but not every day.  It reaches a high average age and even in old age retains the playfulness.

It is easily trained due to its cleverness and comprehension. Thanks to its agility and responsiveness it is easy communicate with it by proper selected voice intonation, praise must be vastly different if necessary. Because it is very helpful to man, it is useless even harmful to severely punish it for some offenses, just emphatic admonition uttered accusingly rather than menacing intonation.

The breed with socially base, it cannot live permanently in an outdoor kennel it needs company .It is the happiest if it can live a "common household" with another dog, calmly and with different breed, too. It is also suitable for beginners.

Temperament & Behaviour:

The education and if necessary training, e.g. for agility or other dog sport that suits its nature,  it does not make special problems require the owner only benign, but unbending consistency, which is also the base of education. Another advantage is size is not too small nor big and it fits well for the cities as in the countryside. It is suitable for sporty people and older people who have enough time to devote to it.

Body:

It's a medium-sized dog, which occurs in two distinct coat shocks, such as rough and smooth coated. The length of the body is slightly larger than height at withers. Body frame should be short rectangular. Height at withers is 38-46 cm males and females. Body weight is for male 11-16 kg, for female 9-14 kg.

The nose should be medium-sized, with well-open nostrils. Preference is given to black, but may be brown.

Lips close fitting to the jaws and teeth, and should not be too thick. Their edges are dark pigmented and corners of the mouth closed. Jaws should be strong, with a full set of teeth consisting of 42 teeth formula (2 times 3.1.4.3 / 3.1.4.2) and regular complete scissor bite, which means that upper teeth closely overlapping down teeth, both of which are fixed in the jaws. Level bite is also acceptable.

Eyes should be medium-sized, oval shaped, slightly oblique, dark brown. Medium brown colour is also admissible.

The earlobes are set high, tilted forward (bends must be above the line of the scalp), triangular shape with rounded peaks. Close to head, they are very mobile and supported by the mood of the dog or bitch. They may also be somewhat "light", while moving a little unsteady.

Cropping tail should be moderately long, thick at the root sickle, eventually and slightly twisted. Its hair reflects the overall body hair. At ease carried hanging with the tip slightly curved upwards, moving upwards sickle over the back hooked.

The chest should be broad and deep, so that it reaches to the elbows. Feet are slightly arched, well-knit toes with strong claws and stiff, dark-coloured and padded. Bright nails are also possible.

Feathering may be either coarse or smooth. Coarse hair is thick, hard, at the end of the lower jaw forms a beard. At withers and on the back isn’t longer than 7 cm shorter sides, about 3 cm long. On the back and legs should be thicker than the sides of the body. The face and the muzzle is longer on the ear lobe corresponds hair on the body.

The undercoat must be short and soft. Smooth coat should be thick, soft, without a beard. At withers and back should not be longer than 7 cm, the sides are usually shorter length of about 3 cm. Fits tightly to the skin. On the ears, the neck and the lower part of the chest should be longer on the tail forms a bottom "flag" on the back of the forelegs "feathering" and on the back of the thigh "pants". The face and the muzzle is short. The undercoat is required is short and soft.

On body:

Basic colour white with light brown, tan to very dark brown markings in shape of variously large patches or saddle. With a brown undercoat the tips of hairs may be black. On head : Light brown, tan to very dark brown markings on cheeks, above eyes and on ears ; divided as symmetrically as possible by a white blaze which reaches up to the forehead or to the nape of neck without any interruption ( symmetrical mask with blaze).

Faults include bright eyes, too lighter brown signs, black-shaded patches without brown undercoat, lack of colourful characters on the body, strongly asymmetrical white markings on the head.
