Westfälische dachsbracke

General Appearance:
It's true, friendly, balanced and confident a bit serious, but otherwise lively, cheerful and very attentive dog, it is always very affectionate at home. It tolerates children well and it is extremely tolerant to them. They just need to explain that it is not lively toy with which they could do what they like and what they want. They have to respect it. Even to strangers it behaves friendly, it is also a reliable guard. It can feel by their behaviour all their intentions. If its behaviour is changing, it is becoming very wary.
Training/Behaviour:
As every hound is appropriately self-confident and independent, because at work it has to always rely only on itself. Therefore, no one can expect or demand absolute obedience by this breed. It is accustomed to act according to its own discretion. You cannot blame the dog. It is counterproductive to try to break it. It becomes stubborn. It always keeps some piece of its independence.
Its owners it sincerely and warmly loved it prefers to stay close to its owner. It is therefore sad when all its life must spend in an outdoor kennel. Its owner if it has a good relationship with him, which it is the most common condition, most permanent contact is totally committed, but it never slavishly acting.
Body:
The main characteristic of body resembles its close relative breed, the German hounds. It is generally compact, sturdy, elongated rectangular body frame. Height at withers is 30-38 cm.
The head should be noble, medium, when viewed from the front narrow elongated. Front bump may be little noticeable. Skull should be slightly wider than the muzzle. The frontal slope (stop) is very gradual. Nasal bridge towards the nose slightly bent, forming a slight down-faced. The nose tends amid bright vertical stripe and nose wings are more or less dark pigmentation.
Lips may be slightly drooping mouth corners discreet. Teeth are strong, regular. The bite can be a scissor or pincer. When crosslink overlaps upper teeth are closely down ones so that their back surfaces affect their front surfaces. When forceps anneal upper their teeth edge to edge incisors down ones. Canines are extremely powerful. Cheeks should produce a smooth transition between the skull and the muzzle must not be too sideways bulging.
The eyes are dark, bright, friendly expression. The earlobes should be suspended, medium long and broad. Flat against the cheeks and the tops are rounded.
The neck is of moderate length in proportion to the head quite strong. Towards the occipital landscape is gradually narrowing. Skin on it, there can be free on the throat but may form a small adjoining lobe. The back should be slightly arched, moderately long, behind the withers declined slightly. The loin should be broad and strong. Croup is steep. Well set tail is carried at a slow locomotion at the upper line of the body upward curved sabre or suspended at the end of a slightly curved upwards.
The chest should be relatively narrower than the dachshund long and must not interfere too close to the ground. The bottom line of the body when viewed from the side is rising towards the hindquarters. The forelegs are strong, lean, strong bones, tendons. Seen from the front must not be crooked shall be straight, with paws pointing straight forward. Elbows are close to your chest.
Pelvic when viewed from the side is of steeply (blunt) angulations than other breeds. The proportion than forelegs are much stronger than e.g. Dachshund. Thighs are characterized Bulging muscles and when viewed from the side and from behind almost straight. Feet are large, toes tight, short.
Coat the whole body including the bottom of the very thick and coarse. On head, ears or distal parts of limbs is short on the back, neck and underneath the tail is longer.
Colour should be yellow to red with black "saddle" or "shell" and the white markings typical hound, forehead ( "blaze"), muzzle, neck ( "choker collar") from the front of the chest, at the end parts limbs and tail tip. Undesirable, but not the defect is bicolour colour (yellow-white or red-and-white) and black colouring on the head. Chocolate brown colour is not acceptable.
