French White and Black Hound

FCI:

French White and Black Hound - Group VI. - Scenthounds and related breeds, Section - Large sized hounds.

General Appearance:

This is an excellent hunting dog-a specialist in hunting deer and roe deer incitement in the pack, but it can also be used to hunt other animals. Like every real pack Hound's it  is able to develop a considerable speed, and for a considerable period of time. When it is hunting is very vigorous and hardy.

It is characterized by considerable intelligence and relatively easy trainability. Perfect compatibility with other dogs, which is typical for pack hound, it is not typical for this breed. It tends to behave to other dogs dominantly and aggressively.

When it is not hunting, it is calm and obedient. To the owner and his family it is faithful and loyal. It behaves to them always nice and friendly. As a security guard and a vigorous defender, however, you cannot count.

Training/Behaviour:

To be a social dog also there must be provided early socialization that must start at an early age education, focus on its undesirable trait. It may be significantly muted, sheer consistency and appropriate authority of the owner, who must be for dog the right and sole leader of the "pack" at all times stern, forceful and always fair.

Body:

It's a big hound with noble and balanced appearance, sturdy body structure, which of course it is never too heavy or rough. Height at wither male is from 65 to 72 cm and female is from 62 to 68 cm.

The head is strong and proudly carried, rather long and large, however, the size must match the total size of the body. Nose must be black and the nostrils should be wide open.

The eyes are dark, intelligent and trusting expression. The earlobes are suspended, set in line at the eyes, slightly corkscrew. Stretched forward they reach the base of the nose or minimum the width of two fingers from it.

The tail should be strong at the root, rather long, carried elegantly.

The front legs are strong, straight and perpendicular to the substrate.

Skin is light under a white and black pigmented under the black coat colour. On the skin of the abdomen and inner thighs it is formed a pigment bluish or brighter spots.

The coat is short, dense and quite stiff. Colouring must be white and black, with a black jacket or with more or less black patches. It can appear black or bluish dots.

Very bright tan markings may be only on the legs, above the eyes, cheeks, on the inner sides of the ears and around the anus. Like Saintongenios Gascony Hound occurs very frequently on the outer thighs grey-brown (like dry leaves) coloured. Roe character (marque de chevreuil).

The serious faults include head showing any signs of similarity with the head of the English Foxhound, for example. Too bulky skull and muzzle short and when viewed from the side lacking at the end of distinctly angular shape, the nose with a significant reduction of pigment, overshot or undershot jaw. The eyes too bright colours, ears short and surface suspended, significant throatiness black colour on the cheeks is losing to minor.

To negative defects by it belongs to aggression or fearfulness, weak limbs or severely crooked paws round shape and a tricolour coat colour.
