General Appearance:
A lively, balanced character, friendly, calm and not easily upset dog. It should never be aggressive, suspicious or timid. To its owner and his family members it is strongly fixed and staying happy in their vicinity. It is therefore not appropriate to keep it permanently in an outdoor kennel. With children it is very friendly and very tolerant. Even to strangers it behaves kindly and helpfully.
When hunting it behaves bravely, it is tenacious, extremely hardy and hardworking. Its hunting instinct is very strong and forces it more and more work. It has an excellent sense of smell and very firmly it keeps the track.
Training/Behaviour:
Mandatory owner needs a consistent, decisive, gifted, natural authority, must be able to be in all situations peacefully promote. Owner cannot neglect its early socialization that is needed. It is necessary, therefore, get the dog accustomed early in life to other animals and in adults, dog must be with them well tolerated.
Body:
The body frame is rectangular, typical short leggy Scenthound dog with a long body and short legs. Construction of the body must be symmetrical, muscles strong, so overall operating despite considerable impression of short leggy legitimate activity. It must be strong and robust, elegant and fast dog. Sexual dimorphism is pronounced, the dog must be immediately distinguishable from females. Distance from the base of the sternum must be equal to 40% height at withers. The limb must not be too short or too long. Ideal height at withers should be 35 cm male and it can range from 32 to 38 cm.
The head is in proportion with the body rather large, long. Toward the nose it tapers smoothly. The nose should be black, with wide and sufficiently open nostrils. Jaws must be strong. It requires a regular complete scissor bite, pincer is also permissible.
Eyes are bright, bold, dark brown colour, nor bulging or sunken. Eyelids are tightly fitting to the eyeballs. The earlobes should be enough to set low, medium long and moderately broad, flat. Adjacent to the cheeks, rounded at the tops.
The tail should be long, thick at the root. Preference is given to low worn, but can also be carried higher but never over the top line of the body.
Chest must be large, on the imaginary cross-sectional oval shape. It is markedly below the elbows. The forelegs are seen from the front straight, strong bones. Front feet should be closed, with tightly knit toes and thickly padded. They may not be n turned in or out.
The hindquarters must be viewed from behind parallel to each other. The hind feet should be the same as the forequarters.
The coat should be harsh, straight and smooth. On its head, earlobes and the inner sides of the legs is shorter underside of tail forming a "brush" but not flag so. All colours in combination with white are allowed, liver brown colour and white uniform is not permitted. Colours must be sharply defined. White markings must be visible from all sides. On its head is bald, white collar around its neck another on the extremities including the feet and tip of tail. Preference is given to characters symmetrically distributed.
Faults include a light-coloured nose, bright eyes, incomplete count incisors, white markings anywhere on the body than required by the standard. The serious defects belong too short legs, narrow lower jaw, uttered (saddle-) or roach back (arched as the topline of the body carp fish roach, Rutilus Rutilus), crooked forelegs, paws turning in or out.
To negative defects counts aggression or fearfulness, one or both eyes blue, overlap or pronounced undershot jaw too narrow position down canines or poor status of one of them, if it could result in some closed-mouth injury palate of the mouth, tail crooked or otherwise deformed, hair colouring liver brown or white uniform.
