FCI:

Thai Bangkaew Dog - Group V. - Spitz and Primitive types, Section 5 - Asian Spitz and related breeds.

General Appearance:

This is a dog's body structure typical for the developmentally ancient breeds of Spitz dogs of Southern type, with a head roughly wedge-shaped with a pointed muzzle, raised earlobes and a tail in the heat of passion and upward motion carried, over the back and shoulders curled or arched bent. It is brisk, lively and very intelligent.

Temperament/Behaviour:

To owner it is completely loyal and faithful. It is currently only an attentive watcher, but also obedient, well-friendliness and easy trained companion for people. To the unknown persons it behaves distantly.

Body:

This is a dog square body frame perfectly proportional body structure, which shall never be too short leggy. Females tend to be slightly longer body frame. Height at withers male is min 46 cm and max. 55 cm, female is min. 41 cm and max. 46 cm.

Wedge-shaped head has a strong, sufficiently broad skull, which shall never be rough. Its size corresponds to the total size of the body. The frontal slope is visible, but only sloping, never precipitous. The muzzle should be moderately long, at the base (at the level crossing track to muzzle) wide, to the nose is pointed. Nasal bridge must be straight. The nose is black and blends its size with the size of the muzzle.

Lips close fitting to the jaws and teeth, and edges are fully pigmented black without bright spots. The upper and lower jaws should be strong. Desirable it is full dentition and scissor bite, pincer but also admits.

The eyes should be of medium size, almond-shaped, with mixed colours black or dark brown. The earlobes are in proportion to the size of the head of a small, high but not close to each other, a triangle shape, only slightly like hood, on top of a slightly pointed, always erect and pointing forward.

The neck should be strong, muscular, well set into shoulders, carried proudly up. Body when viewed from the side flat and horizontal ridge. The loin should be broad and strong. Croup is steep. The tail should be medium length, heavily furred, thick at the base, either too low or too high, carried up, bent over the stern and shoulders.

The chest is quite broad and deep, extends between forelegs and extending to elbows form a properly sprung, but not barrel-shaped ribs. The bottom line of the body forming the edge of the chest, which rises slightly, tucked up abdomen. The forelegs have their free part (from the elbow to the ground) slightly longer than the depth of the chest. Shoulders are moderately oblique, so that their tops upwards and backwards. They should be properly muscled. Forearms must be strong and straight, in front view parallel to each other. Pasterns should be short and when viewed from the side slightly angled. Feet are round shape, with arched and closely-knit toes (i.e. closed).

The hindquarters are muscular thighs and angulations match forelegs. Knees should be either too dull or too sharply bent. Hocks low over the base. Movement must be flexible and energetic, appropriately meaty, but not overly long or fast-paced.

The coat is medium length. The outer coat is straight, coarse, undercoat soft and dense. On the body must be medium length hair, around the neck and shoulders where it forms it is called-collar, which is more pronounced by males than by females, it is more like a rear forelegs up to the wrist, where it forms the feathering.

Similarly, long hair forms on the backs of the thighs "trousers". On the head, chest and front sides of the distal portions of both legs, the coat is short. Overly long coat is not desirable because it obscures the natural contour lines of the body.

Coat colour is white with sharply defined patches of colour. It is mostly often lemon yellow, red, blond or grey with black end larger or smaller number of hair. Sometimes it can even for a large number of black hairs covering the ends of the hair look by some individuals tricolour colour. It occur even colour white and black.

Any deployment of colourful characters is allowed, but symmetrical on the head, around the eyes and earlobes, with a white muzzle is preferred. Sparse dotting the white areas is permitted only in individuals otherwise excellent.
