Polish Hunting Dog

General Appearance:
Polish Hound is calm and balanced dog it can be used for work in the pack, sociable and gregarious. If possible, it requires constant contact with people. It can simultaneously be a hunting dog and companion too. It gets well with children. This is especially true for females. It does not perform an aggressive behaviour and its coexistence with other dogs and other animals it.
Character foundation allows to be kept individually in cities. Also on these conditions it adapts without difficulty. There it is behaving calmly to indulgent, but it needs more hearty walks and at least once in a while to get with other hounds in the countryside, hunting or sporting competition in tracking.
Training/Behaviour:
Absolute to slavish obedience from this breed any owner can expect or require. Of course it cannot be "inaccurate" or "delayed" execution of orders to punish. It would be the most reliable way how it can lose its confidence in the owner and a serious threat to the relationship.
Its education must be consistent, timely commenced a systematic, or its training, if the owner is able to respect its herd and individual peculiarities. It presents no great difficulty.
It learns easily and quite willingly, positive stimulation (fervent praise and reward for successful performance), however, it is absolutely necessary. The owner needs to be a calm, level headed, that even when eventually any failure owner does not increase unnecessarily the intensity of voice and owner cannot hurry during the training.
Body:
This is a medium sized dog , height at withers is from 56 to 65 cm ( males) and 55 to 60 cm ( female) , weight of body is 25 to 32 kg (male ), and from 20 to 26 kg ( female), compact, rather heavy structure of the body and strong skeleton, limbs corresponding length and strength cardinality body.
The head has to be really heavy, but at the same time nobly chiselled, when viewed from the side of the rectangular medium length. Nose must be black, big and wide. Bite requires regular, comprehensive.
The eyes are soft, calm expression, oblique. They should not be stored too deep in the orbit (sunken). They are brown. In older individuals tend to be lower eyelids open.
The earlobes should be set low, quite long, loosely hanging at the ends slightly rounded. Lower parts are curved inwards and close to head.
The neck is of medium length, strong, muscular and in the transition to a significantly wider fuselage. On the neck should be pronounced lobe formed loose skin.
The tail should be low, thick at the bottom and covered on the bottom a little longer hair. If carried slightly hanging down, it exceeds the level of the tip of hock.
Around the middle of the tarsus turns slightly upward. In normal movement it is more curved, but never curled. In the course it is higher carried without being lifted over the upper line of the body.
The chest must be spacious, suitably broad and deep so that the sternum is at elbow level. The forelegs are oblique, very muscular shoulder blades. The hindquarters have long, strong legs with powerful muscles and bones powerful.
Thick coat is of medium length, with soft undercoat. On the upper side of the body, behind the thighs and below the tail is slightly longer than elsewhere on the body.
Faults include lack of muscle, the hoarse voice, barely noticeable occipital bone, bland brow ridges, muzzle pointed or coloured black, defects bite, bright eyes, ears too long, very short or protruding from the head, insufficiently capacious chest, tail thin, too short, excessively long, poorly coated or twisted.
