Eurasier

FCI:

Eurasier belongs to the class V - Spitz and called. Primitive, Section 5 - Asian Spitz and related breeds.

General Appearance:

Eurasier is self-confident, calm, even tempered dog with high resistance to provocation, intelligent, alert, watchful and attentive, but not noisy watcher. It barks only if it has an important reason.

Temperament/ Behaviour:

It is very sensitive and does not tolerate harsh training methods. It has a prior effort to comply. It is industrious, and therefore it needs a hospitable owner, empathetic, kind of consistent, but acting calmly and moderately, in all situations consistently. Also important is the clear intonation. It needs sympathetic, kind and consistent training.

Thanks to its awareness and empathy is an ideal breed for people exposed to frequent stress. To strangers is unobservant, restrained, never hostile or even aggressive. With children it makes a friendship, conflicts with other dogs it is not seeking. Against various provocations from other dogs is resistant. If it has been properly socialized early, it has no problems with domestic pets. It is strongly fixated on "its" family, it loves family, it wants to be a part of it, because of its permanent stay in an outdoor kennel is not suitable.

In addition to regular long walks require plenty of opportunities for various activities, e.g. retrieving. It is also suitable for training agility and obedience. Willingly and gladly it participates on family trips or tourist events. It has no hunting instinct, so if a reliable recall, it can walk without a leash. It is also the perfect guide dog for disable and excellent breed for dog therapy.

Body:

It's well balanced, medium-sized dog of Spitz type reasonably strong bones, with banners earlobes and variously coloured hair whose length is such that even in rich coat the body proportions still well recognizable. Body frame is rectangular shortly. The height at withers, male is 52-60 cm for female 48 to 56 cm. Weight of body is from 23 to 32 kg for males and 18-26 kg for females.

The head should be balanced, wedge-shaped. The skull must be forehead flat, with perceptible longitudinal and frontal furrow marked occipital area.

The frontal slope is gradual. The muzzle must be neither too coarse nor too pointed even if it tapers toward the nose. The nose should be of a reasonable size, with black pigmentation.

The edges of the lips should be tight with black colour. Strong jaws lower forms appropriately wide arc. Teeth are strong demands; complete bite can be a scissor or pincer. All teeth must be planted vertically in the jaws. The tongue may be an entire bluish or thereon may be spots (at least one) of blue colour. Cheeks should be less pronounced.

Eyes will require slightly sloping, of medium size, dark. The rims are black. The earlobes are to be deployed on the width of the base of one of them. They are medium sized, triangular, erect, rounded at the tops lightly.

The neck is of medium length and sufficiently muscled proportions reflect the overall appearance, its transition into the trunk is smooth. The body must be strong and not to be too short. Withers should be significant, back firm and straight, very powerfully muscled. The loin is appropriately long and wide, very muscular, tail is straight, slightly sloping, broad and strong.

The tail should be set so as to form a smooth continuation. The imaginary cross-section is round and firm, of good strength towards the tip tapers. Should be profusely feathered, curled over the croup and loin or slightly angled to the side and curled. If suspended, reaching to hock joints.

The chest is so deep that the bottom edge is at elbow level. Ribs are oval domed chest should be obvious, sternum must be long and extends far back.

The forelegs are straight and parallel to each other, moderate angulations. Shoulders should be slightly oblique, muscular properly. The shoulder bones are heavily muscled, medium length. Elbows close to the body, forearms are moderately long, muscular enough. Strong wrists, pastern medium length, angled. Feet should be oval in shape with fingers tightly closed and adequately arched and thick, dark pigmented claws. The pads must be rigid, flexible, black-coloured, heavily coated inter digital spaces.

Hind legs are straight and parallel, properly angulated. The thighs are heavily muscled, medium length, the knee must be firm. Tibia moderately long, muscular, hocks must be strong. Hock should have the appropriate length and width and being vertical to ground. Movement requires spacious and faces forward.

Coat consists of an outer coat and undercoat. It must be all over the body dense. Strong abundant hair of medium length, loosely fitting is preferred.

Coat on neck can be only slightly longer than on the body but not forming a mane. All colours and their combinations are permitted with the exception of pure white, white and spotted, and liver brown colour. The coat needs regular care.

The faults from foregoing points should be considered a fault and accurately assessed by the degree of expression with regard to the health and welfare of the dog or bitch.

Faults include aggression or fearfulness, nervousness, shyness, excessive suspiciousness, lack of sexual expression, the absence of one or more incisors (I) and canines (C), the lack of one or more third or fourth premolars (P3, P4) , absence of one or more first or second molars (M1, M2) anomalies bite, ectropion, entropion; eyes too deep (sunken) or excessively small, distichiasis, tilted forward or hanging earlobes, kinked , lost of pigment.
